The Telluride Post Office is a great place to go to get your mail. But, best of all, our friendly postmaster and postal workers will always brighten your day! Go see Jim, bring him a photo for his "Telluride Family" photo wall.

Time is running out quickly to get parcels to there destination by Christmas.

The latest date to mail packages other then express, and have them arrive by Christmas is December 21, 2005. Parcels can be sent after that date using express. This service is our premier service. If it does not make it on time you can receive a refund on the postage paid. Mailing parcels after the 21st any other way does not guarantee delivery by Christmas. I recommend that all parcels sent out now tell the 21st be sent Priority or Express.

Post rates will be increasing as of January 8, 2006. The new rate stamps can now be purchased at the Post Office. For a list of the new rates visit www.usps.com

POSTAL SERVICE EXPANDS REACH
OF MONEY TRANSFER SERVICE

INSERT YOUR DATELINE (Example: Washington, D.C.) – Sure Money®, the Postal Service’s international wire transfer service, which is also called Dinero Seguro®, has expanded its reach to Latin America and the Caribbean.
Available to Mexico since 1996, Sure Money now provides customers with the ability to transfer money to nine additional countries. They are the Caribbean country of the Dominican Republic; and the Latin American countries of Argentina; Colombia; Ecuador; El Salvador; Guatemala; Honduras; Nicaragua; and Peru.
Customers can send up to $2,000 per transaction by submitting and presenting the appropriate form, available at participating Post Offices, and the corresponding fee, to one of that office’s window clerks. Identification is required for transfers exceeding $1,000.
“Postal money orders have long been a favorite way for people to send money to friends and relatives internationally," says INSERT LOCAL CONTACT OR MANAGER. “And Sure Money provides an electronic alternative that reduces the time it takes to receive the funds from days to just 15 minutes.”
Sure Money uses secure, electronic wire transfers between the Postal Service and thousands of participating partner branch offices in destinating countries. There are no hidden or additional fees. The recipient’s funds are available in the destinating country within 15 minutes – guaranteed.
“Customers trust the security the Postal Service provides,” says INSERT LOCAL CONTACT OR MANAGER AGAIN. “And with the expansion of Sure Money to additional countries, we can now provide this trusted service to even more of our customers.”
Personal identification is required for recipient of funds in the participating country. The recipient does not need a bank account and pays no additional fees in the destination country.
For more information about the service or to find out what it costs, call toll free: 1-888-368-4669. The service is available locally at: INSERT SURE MONEY OFFICE LOCATIONS.

EL SERVICIO POSTAL AMPLÍA EL ALCANCE DEL
SERVICIO DE TRANSFERENCIA DE DINERO

INSERT YOUR DATELINE (Example: Washington, D.C.)

5400 Mail Trail

Fairbanks AK 99709-9999

“The blizzard of Santa Letters started earlier this year,” said Debra Cornelius, one of Santa’s postal helpers at the North Pole Branch of the Fairbanks , Alaska Post Office. “We’ve received more Santa mail this time than last year.”

Please do not send empty envelopes for mailing, because envelopes without inserts are easily damaged. After receiving a “North Pole” postmark, the cards and letters are delivered to your loved ones via the Postal Service.

Requests for a North Pole cancellation/letter from Santa should arrive in Fairbanks before December 15, 2004 . Delivery Confirmation is recommended if you’d like to know when your request for cancellation arrives in Fairbanks . As it gets closer to Christmas, you should consider sending your requests via expedited services: Priority Mail or Express Mail.

Happy Holidays and be sure to mail early!
