Telluride One to One Mentoring Program

One to One’s Family Event and Fundraising Event!

It’s time for One to One, San Miguel Mentoring Program’s 9th annual Cardboard Sled Derby and BBQ, which will take place on the Tubing Hill at the Telluride Ski Area, March 12th.  Registration is free and will begin at 9:30am. The race begins at 10:30am.  The derby is for all school-aged children, ages 5-17.  There are three categories for the winners:  1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Race Winners, Speed and Creativity.  All participants receive a consolation prize and the place winners receive trophies.  All registration and liability forms must be in by March 7th.   The BBQ following the race is free to all participants in the derby, $10 for spectators, and $5 for non-participating children and mentors. Last year, over 100 kids raced down the tubing hill.  The sleds are made by using only cardboard, string, paper, tape, glue and paint, and then put to the test on the race hill.

  • Participants are required to wear helmets, goggles, gloves, long sleeves, and long pants.
